Meet Your Japanese Teacher

Hi! I’m Urara Nakai, and I will be your Japanese teacher. Welcome to MottoMotto!

I come from Osaka, Japan, and have been a language teacher for over 16 years. I passed an official Japanese language teacher´s qualification (Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test (日本語教育能力試験), and I taught Japanese as a second language to foreigners in Japan for six and half years at YMCA OSAKA in Japan. After that, I moved to Hong Kong to teach Japanese as both first and second language to children for seven years. I pursued my teaching skills further by getting a certificate of CertTESOL from Trinity College London. Additionally, I have worked in the financial industry in Hong Kong. I completed my Master’s degree in Pedagogy at University of Oslo in 2020, and I have now been living and teaching Japanese in Oslo since 2018.

My vision for MottoMotto is to create a super effective and fun Japanese language school. Everyone wants to be able to communicate in Japanese, but it can be a challenging goal without the proper guidance and material. MottoMotto has unique teaching methods and a syllabus which is created by an experienced and qualified teacher. A lot of students who have been learning with MottoMotto are obsessed with studying because they quickly become able to use Japanese in many real-life situations! To learn a language is the same as a daily physical training. Reaching your goals takes time and effort, but MottoMotto will give you a lot of experience and guidance to make your learning fun!

With MottoMotto, you get to decide what to learn based on what’s important to you, and your previous level of Japanese. The course will start at your level, whether that’s beginner, intermediate, or advanced.

MottoMotto’s physical lessons and free events for students take place in our spacious, bright and welcoming classrooms at 657 Oslo, in the heart of Oslo!
